Why You Should *Really* Work At DoSelect

A couple of months back, I had written a really hip, Buzzfeed-ish post about why you should work at DoSelect — which is the startup I founded with Rohit and Iliyas, hoping to change how tech companies recruit talent, and how developers find the jobs they’d love to do.

Here are some reasons why you should really come work with us.

We don’t have all of it figured out.

We are a young startup. We started building DoSelect just over a year back, and have made a number of mistakes over this course — but we have learnt from them. We’ve tried making our users happy with every line of code written, every support ticket answered, and every product demo delivered. And that has worked pretty well for us. But we have a lot of blind spots. We are just getting started, and there’s a huge number of things which we still need to figure out, plans which we still need to execute, territories that we still need to conquer.

You should come work with us if you can venture out in the unknown in search of the fabled lands, fearless, and return victorious. If that gives you the kicks, you’ll love what you do at DoSelect.

We innovate — at everything.

We have created an evaluation engine that enables companies to test coders on any technology/framework they want to, without any hassle. At the time of writing this, DoSelect supports 21 programming languages, 13 application frameworks and 2 operating systems — and all with complete superuser and network access. We are probably the only company in the world that does that.

We innovate at marketing as well! Like the time we hosted a Star Wars themed hackathon. WHAT?!?
Or the fact that we have some cool default avatars (which the super-talented Nivedita whipped up).

You should come work with us if you think this is so rad, and you can’t wait to tell us about your genius-3-AM-in-the-morning idea that’ll make DoSelect more rad.

We care a great deal about the details.

We believe that behind all great products and services are teams that really, REALLY care about the details and go an extra mile to make sure everything’s perfect. We try to follow the same practice. Be it our user interfaces, workflows, emails — we believe in delighting our users in the smallest ways possible.


And most importantly, we need YOUR help.

Yes, we do. We set out for making a dent in the universe, and now we need more fellow travelers on our journey into the unknown, so we can emerge as victorious. We need you to help us build the best recruitment platform this entire goddamn world has ever seen. We need your help in building the best user interfaces, creating the most responsive APIs, design the most effective marketing strategies, create the most engaging developer communities — and do the best work of our lives.
